A tiny bag with a big personality.
Noël combines natural open-weave cane with glossy scarlet and deep green cord, all worked by hand through and around the cane structure. The contrasting colors travel around the rim, base, and sides in looping stitches, giving the piece an almost ribbon-like quality.
A double strand of oversized pearls forms the handle and continues down the side of the bag, where the pearls are wrapped into the construction before falling freely beneath the base.
The red, green, and pearl palette gives Noël an unmistakably festive spirit, but the natural cane keeps her from feeling overly precious. Part basket, part jewelry and part tiny objet d’art, she is intended to be noticed.
Turn her around and the stitching changes. Look inside, and the construction reveals itself. Every angle carries evidence of the hand that made her.
Each Petite Cami Claudel is individually shaped, wrapped, and finished by hand in St. Louis. Variations in the natural cane, weaving, and cord placement are inherent to the handmade process and ensure no two pieces are exactly alike.
