Cami Claudel No. 05 — Rivage
One of One | Handmade in St. Louis
Rivage is a larger, rectangular interpretation of the Cami Claudel, built slowly by hand from natural open-weave cane and layers of cord, knots, and hardware.
Its structured rectangular silhouette is framed in soft ivory cord, with navy accents woven intermittently around the upper edge. Champagne-toned lacing runs vertically along the sides of the bag, adding structure and an intentionally visible record of the handwork behind the piece. Square knotted ivory handles, warm gold-tone hardware, and a vintage-inspired heart lock charm finish the exterior.
Inside, Rivage includes a removable ivory fabric pouch attached to the bag with two gold-tone carabiners, keeping the cane open while giving everyday belongings a more private, secure place to live.
Every element has been assembled individually, from the wrapped rim and hand-laced seams to the placement of the knots, hardware, and contrasting cord. The slight variations in the natural cane and handwork are part of the piece's character, not something intended to be uniform.
